The modern piano of today has its roots in the Pianoforte of some three hundred years ago. The modern day pianist is a virtuoso, able to play any kind of music people want to hear, from country to classical. Most people like to hear the tinkling of the piano keys striking the harp. Whether in a small band, individually or in an orchestra the sound is still magical. At some point in our lives, many of us have attempted the old style piano lessons. We gave them up in order to listen instead of playing. If you really want to learn to play the piano without the weekly lessons and long hours of practice than get piano learning software. This software will do the job quickly and efficiently.

I want to learn to play piano, but I can't afford a piano... would it be ok to start with a keyboard instead?
So I was thinking about getting a keyboard instead of a piano (since I can't even afford one), but I don't know how many keys I need. Would it be ok to start out with a 54 key and maybe get a better one later on? Or should I just hold off until I can afford one with 88 keys? Do I need one with 88 keys to learn to play? Thanks =)
