How to teach piano lessons?
I have been playing the piano since I was a tiny kid and am very good at it (yes, I play classical, not all that modern junk, ans have been taught by an actual professor since the very beginning). So I was thinking about beginning to teach piano myself to beginner students for the next few years until I go off to college. Does anyone have any specific tips on teaching itself or even simple things like advertising? My teacher said she would "teach me how to teach" sometime but that never happened... I'll have to ask again sometime. Anyways, what do you suggest I start with, assuming these guys have neve played piano before? (I don't have students yet so I don't know for sure yet.) Scales, reading notes, exercises, and maybe a few super-simple songs I remember playing as a kid? What if they already have experience? Should I just try to continue to teach them whatever song they are learning, and how should I do that (especially if it's one I have not had the chance to play before)? Help is well-appreciated! :)
